Cheerful, Jittery, Chatty, Aromatic, Charismatic, Tatooed…..Baristas come in all shapes and sizes; however you start your morning: espresso, latte, dark roast, iced, etc…It’s important to recognize the early early risers who serve us our morning java. Often educated and frequently edgy, baristas are our morning Bean-tenders willing to serve us with haste, chat about headlines and politely look at pictures of your toddler or puppy scrolled across your smartphone.
Here in Park Ridge we have some talented coffee brewers. We all have our go-to spot so reach out to us directly if we missed your favorite cafe or barista.
Starbucks on Prospect: This Metra commuter cafe is an ideal coffee dispensary for the fast paced urban workforce. Starbucks on Prospect balances its urgency with a laid back dog friendly patio.
Starbucks on NWHY: The chain that seems like a café. This location is spacious and accommodates the traveling office. If your workday is 10-2, then this is a perfect location. Meet a client, work on your laptop or read the Tribune. Patio is small and set on a busier street but spacious interior and familiar surroundings make this an ideal spot.
Dolcetti Patisserie & Café: Tucked away just south of the tracks, Dolcetti offers culture and quality. Quiet patio across from Hodges Park is ideally located near train and library without any hustling distractions. Family owned and operated, this European style café offers much more than a great cup of coffee.
Dunkin Donuts on Touhy & Greenwood: Relatively standard Dunkin in every way except for 1 important thing…the staff. Polite, efficient, eclectic and personal. You know what you’re getting at Dunkin Donuts: Hot, fast decent coffee. Intimidating at first glance with tattoos, piercings & dyed hair, this Park Ridge Dunkin team makes this franchise seem like an urban French café.
So cheers and thank-you to all our baristas.
Keep smiling, keep brewing and pour on.
